What fresh hell is this?

I last had Covid 6m ago and have relatively mild Long Covid, but eggs have been fine until recently. In the last few weeks eggs suddenly smell and taste utterly, nauseatingly foul. I used to love eggs!

Will I ever be able to eat eggs again?

I don't know. But I had a patient at work tell me the other day they'd not been able to face eggs since having covid.

You mean they taste FOWL (trying to cheer you up, raise a faint smile)

I had this not with eggs but with oranges, they tasted of nothing, texture was fine, yes, juiciness was fine, yes, taste, nope. It does pass but urrrgggh.

Eggs are OK but cannot drink any instant coffee anymore tastes like sick.

Have have ground beans now !

Gravy for me, Sunday roasts are just grim now so weird !

I lost my sense of smell in June 2021 with covid. My smell has still not come back and I seem to cycle through different foods becoming inedible. It was garlic (tasted sour), then peppers (tasted like sour milk), now it's eggs.. they just taste rotten! A gone off, sulpher type of taste. I'm hoping this one fixes itself.. I love eggs!!!

Exactly!

Most of the disturbances of taste and smell for me have been absences rather than distortions, but the distortions have all been mild and disappointing rather than disgusting. This is the first time a food I previously enjoyed has made me heave in all its forms.
