Reinfection after Omicron (immunised)

There's not much news around about Civid anymore so I find it hard to find info.
Does anyone whether people who have had Omicron, fully vaccinated, are going on to get Covid again?
I had it pretty mildly in March and am hoping I'm protected for a while, as I haven't heard of people getting omicron twice, but it may be too early to say?

I had what I presume was omicron in February and caught what I presume was omicron again in July, maybe a different variant. First time I was more poorly and tested positive for longer. Second time was like a cold and I was negative again after a week.

I am unsure on variants but my daughter had it twice in a short ish time.

I would say that getting it again after having it in March is a probability! Many people are being reinfected time and time again

I think the research showed that having omicron didn't protect you very much at all from getting it again.

blisstwins · 23/08/2022 20:43

I had it in March and got it again.

I don't know the variants, but I had it end of March, and again (albeit mildly) end of July

BeyondMyWits · 23/08/2022 20:45

Start of April, end of June for me.

VanCleefArpels · 23/08/2022 20:49

Firstly no one knows what variant they have had

Secondly many people I know have had covid several times, I’ve had it at least twice

Thirdly given no one is testing any more who knows what that sniffle/sore throat/ mild cough is at this point.

BeyondMyWits · 23/08/2022 21:16

Those of us taking part in trials (many thousands of us) do know exactly which variant we have had and we still test regularly.

I have had it twice too.

VanCleefArpels · 24/08/2022 06:49

That’s a tiny minority of the millions of people that have been infected beyondmywits. The vast majority will never know which variant they have had

I really just meant from when omicron became the prevalent strain in around December.
