Spotting after covid

Has anyone else had spotting after testing positive for Covid?

I tested positive on the 22nd of July.
my period was due on the 8th or August but I had some spotting around the 3rd until my period. I initially thought it was just my period coming early but it was definitely just spotting. I then had a fairly normal period that ended last Thursday but today I’ve had some spotting again.
I’m wondering if it could be related to having Covid and if anyone else has experienced this.
Im trying not to worry that it could be something more sinister.

@PollyPeeves I've always had spotting before my period, but I definitely noticed that in the aftermath of having Covid (twice), my periods have been delayed, I've had more spotting than usual then it's been more painful. My last bout of Covid was in May and my periods went back to normal for me in a couple of months each time.

thanks @Glitterandunicorns hopefully it is just that. I’ll keep an eye on it for now. That’s the only time I’ve had Covid so it could just be that!

@PollyPeeves hopefully it'll go back to normal soon. I know that loads of folks found their periods were different immediately after having Covid if that's any comfort to you.

@PollyPeeves (when I say lots of people, I mean there were news items about it and people were encouraged to report any Covid-related period changes via the NHS yellow notice system).

@PollyPeeves @Glitterandunicorns Just come across this post as I was looking. I had covid early Sept for a week or so (first time) . My period started right after it as normal time but now on day 17 for next cycle and got bright red blood. I sometimes have 21 day cycles but never 17....

I am also 50 though but seems strange and I do have adenmysiois (enlarged womb lining so not sure if it is that).

Did your settle back down again?

Hi @Elliejane I hope you're feeling better now.
For me, my period went pretty much back to normal after two or three cycles both times I had Covid. Hopefully things will settle down for you too.
