Can't get my temperature down

I'm on day 3 since positive test, possibly had it for about 5 days I'm triple vaxed. This is my first time. . I had an extremely high temperature of 42°c during the night. Since then taking Paracetamol and Ibruprofen back to back it still won't drop below 39°c.
Im in bed with headache, terrible congestion, slight cough, fatigue etc. Just really struggling with this temperature. Any advice? I don't want to bother 111 as not sure what they could advise any different to what I'm doing. Got cooling towels on me, cool drinks, fan etc

You are doing everything right to be honest.

And bugs don’t do well in high temperatures hence why the normal and natural response to infection is a high temperature so I’d let your body do what it needs to do.

I get that it’s uncomfortable but carry on doing what you are doing.

I also think that you are right about 111, they will advise you do what you are doing.

How are you feeling?

My temperature as broken now thank goodness. I'm on 5 days since positive test today, feeling much brighter just like a very heavy cold now.
