Fit to fly pcr

I'm due to have a pcr fit to fly test next Monday which has sent me into 2020 style covid anxiety! Just wondering if anyone has done multiple home tests before their pcr and still had a positive pcr? Im hating the uncertainty, it's ruining the build up to my holiday as I've spent the whole week avoiding people!

I've had this anxiety when flying to see my family when a PCR was needed. We were just like you, super strict about not meeting up inside, masks in shops, etc. and it was fine. We had to do it for two trips when Covid was rife and we made it. I'm sure you will too, good luck!

@orangina01 it's awful isn't it! I haven't thought about covid in so long. I'm just to relax and tell myself what will be will be and it's only a holiday but it's the first time we've been away since pre covid and I don't want anything to go wrong! I'm testing every day on the home tests (all negative!) but still keep thinking 'what if'!

@rainbowshows don't keep testing if you don't have symptoms, you'll make yourself ill with worry. Honestly unless you feel sick just rock up and do the PCR. Til then, avoid indoor gatherings and wear your mask if you need to, it will all work out I'm sure!

Do you know something I could have wrote this post. We are due to fly this weekend, and may get selected for random covid testing at our destination! Can't say I'm doing so well, am so worried any little niggles and I just go into a 'meltdown' so I do know how you feel!

rainbowshows · 02/08/2022 17:45

@GuessWho04 it's terrible, I feel a little bit normal now I know others are feeling the same. Have you been avoiding mixing? I've been wearing my mask all week and limited contact with anyone except my dc. Even told my oh he can't come home because he has a few work events this week 🙈 I also read they do random testing at our destination so that's also added to the stress!

@rainbowshows yes indeed! Kids are not allowed out the house, did enough shopping to last us till Friday last week. All bits and pieces are sorted. I've been working from home. My dsis asked to take kids out , I just said I'm sorry not happening, it'll tip me over the edge. Thing is you can only do so much. My son has a cold at the min, cure frantic Google searches last night. I just keep reminding myself I'm not in control. If something is going to happen it'll happen and I'll have to deal with when it happens.

@GuessWho04 my DC suddenly has a cough and cold too 😩 I don't understand how so many people seem to be travelling without any stress!

We had to do a lateral flow to board a cruise, I was working until 48 hours before customer facing but I was pretty blasé anyway - dp had covid 6 weeks before we travelled and I didn't test positive so I knew I wasn't susceptible

GuessWho04 · 02/08/2022 19:15

@rainbowshows oh no,.hope they feels better soon. Lots of Vicks, medicine, and fingers crossed they will be ok that's what I did last night. Lots of fluid during the day. I don't understand how anyone travels either, I do feel it's also taken over what should be fun. Worse thing is the destination had stopped doing random testing for about 3 weeks prior to us leaving, and have only just restarted again! But again it's a risk right, and one you have to take pay the price for if you want to go away.

rainbowshows · 02/08/2022 19:18

@GuessWho04 do you mind me asking where you are going? I thought they just put it down as standard on the airlines policy, I didn't realise they were actually doing it!

@rainbowshows no course, I'm hopefully flying out to Canada, what about yourself?.
