Hi, My 1 year old has been ill for almost 4 weeks now. She was ill with a cold, then caught covid and then a week later had a temperature out of nowhere. She suffered with covid as you would expect a 1 year old to deal with it but she hasn't been right since. She's normally a very happy, smiley girl but now we only see glimpse of how she was. She has never been a great sleeper but she's now even worse, waking crying, throwing herself around, almost like a tantrum. I'm not sure if this is because she's still feeling rubbish or an age thing but it genuinely has me confused. When she had the fever last week there were no other signs of illness and she already has all her teeth so it wasn't teething, no grabbing her ears or anything like that. I'm worried incase there is an underlying problem for her illness and behaviour that I'm missing. Has anyone else had problems with their little ones after covid?
I cant see a Dr for love or money, last week I spoke with a Dr who said he couldn't see her so I should just take her to a&e!! Our local a&e are already bursting and I didn't want to take her there for hours with just a temperature. How can you explain that your little one just isn't themselves and need some advice without them looking at you like you have lost the plot!! Any advice would be grately appreciated 🙏

Didn't want to read and run..

I don't have any specific Covid related advice but if you can't see a doctor, could you bring her to the pharmacy and speak to the pharmacist for advice?

Wishing you both well- it's hard when they are so young.

That's a good idea. Thank you.
The temper tantrums didn't start until much later with my other 2 so I'm at a bot of a loss as to how she's acting.
