Unable to eat

Has anyone else been unable to eat with covid? I had covid earlier this year and only felt rough on the first day, I tested positive again a few days ago and it feels completely different and far worse. My throat hurts so much, it feels like I have swallowed glass, even with ibuprofen/paracetamol it’s really difficult for me to swallow.

Has anyone else had this symptom too, and have you found a way to manage it? 😫

i had a high temperature of 41 on day 1/2, as well as awful body aches and a headache, those symptoms have all subsided but this awful sore throat is really unbearable.

I had this too, poor you it was horrible.
I found I wasn't hungry very hungry, I stuck to warm and cold drinks and ice lollies. Even when I could manage food it didn't taste of anything so I didn't eat much for a couple of weeks.

I had it last year (so Delta) and couldn't eat for 2 weeks. Lost a stone I didn't need to lose.
As long as you keep fluids up lack of eating won't harm most people. (Obv different if diabetic etc).

I've had exactly this for 3 days -- fever and feels like I'm swallowing glass all day. The sore throat is far worse than anything I've ever had before. I feel like I've been sold a lie being told omicron is "mild" as I'm relatively young and healthy and fully vaccinated! I'm in so much pain. This is nothing like a "cold"!

I'm just getting over covid and I feel your pain. I described mine as someone shoving a sharp icicle down my throat.
My OH would get me ice cubes in a glass and eating them helped. I also tried a numbing throat spray from amazon which did also help a little but didn't taste all that great.
I hope you feel better soon!
