Rest after COVD with no symptoms?

I have two teens at home with COVID.
Teen 1 is having a dreadful time; headache, cough, sore throat, aching, exhaustion.
Teen 2 has absolutely no symptoms.

(interestingly Teen 1 has a very faint positive while Teen 2 has an immediate thick dark positive line, anyway...)

Both teens have heavy sport schedules playing for school and club teams. 8 or 9 hours a week training and matches is usual, plus gym and fairly physical sport-related part time jobs. I am concerned about doing too much too soon and have told Teen 1 that she will be taking it very slow and will not be back to full sport for a couple of weeks at least.

What about Teen 2? If he is completely a-symptomatic does he still need to rest? Take it slow? Is his immune system still taking a battering? Can he go straight back to practice?

No idea. It'll depend on how he's feeling physically. Might not have any affect on him.

Our DD1 had covid - mild symptoms - and she trains in her sport 6 days a week. Coach knows she had covid and she had to take it easy for a few weeks.

Firstly I would stick to guidelines that ask if you have covid to isolate for 5 days, then I would go back to sport gradually for a couple of days, but you see footballers for example back playing 90 minutes after isolation and they are fine.

We actually have to isolate longer where we are, so he's had that time off. He seems absolutely fine and is keen to get back to practice and matches as soon as he's allowed out. I just don't want to send him back and then later realise that he ought to have taken it easy.

It's easier with the other one because she's clearly unwell and can't possibly go back for a few weeks.
