Surprised to be testing (almost) negative again after only 4 days

Tested Monday which was negative then a strong positive Wednesday and another strong positive Friday. Today (Sunday) just a very weak positive line. Last time I had it I tested positive till day 12.
Is anyone else finding positive tests waning much earlier than previously? Maybe it’s this new strain.

DH tested positive on Monday evening and negative Friday morning- was pretty rough i between so think you are right maybe a new strain?

I only tested positive for a few days ,l,maybe we both had it longer than we thought ?

I tested positive on Sunday and was negative by the Tuesday. But I did have a runny nose the week before - thought it was hay fever. Only tested as felt worse and fatigued by the Sunday.

Dd had covid in December and was positive for 10 days + despite having minimal symptoms.

she's had it again and was negative after 5 despite that she had more symptoms the second time around!

Following with interest. I've had super strong instant lines Fri and today...

NoodleSnow · 24/07/2022 19:45

Definitely the case here. I was really surprised as the positive test was so strong and then there was no trace of a line 3 days later.

RainbowSlaw · 24/07/2022 19:53

I had a negative on day 5 or 6 followed by a very strong positive again on the following day, so I wouldn't read too much into the strength of the line.

Giveaschitt · 24/07/2022 20:06

When I had covid, I was testing every day because my family all had it so was expecting it to appear, and I only tested positive for 3 days in total - and the third day was very faint.

LightandFruity · 24/07/2022 20:11

I’ve got to test negative tomorrow and Tuesday to be able to go back to work on Wednesday so I will see what happens.
Incidentally I tested slight positive on the flow flex today but negative on the other type I have. Did 2 tests because I didn’t quite believe it..

The strength of the line indicates the viral load so do read into that.

hello same here. First time having covid - positive late Thursday and today negative. I still have lots of symptoms sneezing, no taste or smell, tired and still feels like a head cold.
I am finding the lack of taste or smell is making me sad as I love eating!
