Itchy skin anyone?

Tested positive first time yesterday. Symptoms started 24hr hour before. Today my skin is so itchy especially on my face. Never seen this as a symptom/side effect before. Have been icing my face which has helped a little but I can’t stop clawing at my face and body. Anyone else had this?

Not me personally, but my co worker suffered with itchy legs which carried on for a few weeks after she’d stopped testing positive. Drove her crazy but don’t think she ever found a solution so no advice, just wanted to share that I do know someone who got covid itches - her partner had it too.

i know it’s so hard as i am def not one of those people who can ignore an itch but try not to scratch, that’ll probably irritate your skin and make it worse in the long run.

I now have bronchitis following Covid and since yesterday I’ve been plagued with uticaria. It’s awful.

Thanks folks, thought it was just me as never heard anyone mention this before. Ice is helping numb is somewhat and I have some of that e45 itch relief cream so going to cover myself in that too.

@NanaNelly poor you with bronchitis too. Strange as 2 weeks ago I went down with really bad tonsilitis. The doctor said that they had so many people at the moment getting things like that and then going on quickly to get covid at the back of it. I guess immune systems dip pre/post covid. Hope you are ok

Developed eczema on arms and legs but that was a week or two post covid.

Thank you. I have to admit to feeling rather sorry for myself and I’m just staying in bed. My son in law is a GP and said I was very unlucky to end up with bronchitis as well as the Covid. I’m also not sure it’s an allergic reaction to the inhaler that’s caused the uticaria as I’ve stopped it now but I’m still covered in welts and feels as if I have burning oil coursing through my veins. Panadol Sinus is taking care of my headache today and doing a good job of clearing things along so to speak.

my daughter and granddaughter are now into week 4 of still not feeling great either.

I hope you’re on the road to recovery.

Yes. It’s horrible but mine is on the inside as well and feels more like the reaction I have to penicillin only on a lesser scale. My lips etc aren’t involved.

How are you now?

Tootsey11 · 22/07/2022 20:45

My skin particularly my face but body too is going crazy from itching. I'm negative now 5 days and this itching started about a week ago. I didn't connect the two things that covid was causing this. I've had covid 5 times and never had any itching.
