Hearing loss

Has anyone with covid suffered hearing loss? I was positive about 2 weeks ago, negative after 5 days. Lost smell, taste, had sore throat and what felt like a sinusitis. A few days later I lost majority of hearing in one ear.. two days after the other ear started. I've now been about 4 days not being able to hear hardly anything, I mean to the point where I can't hear my 5 month old wake in the night, having to have subtitles on the tv and I'm pretty sure if my poor DP has to repeat himself one more time he's going to just stop talking to me 😂. Been to docs today who said my ears are completely clear and it's just covid related. If anyones had this how long does it last? I can cope with no taste/smell but not being able to hear is really unsettling especially not being able to hear DD! X

Do your ears feel blocked/like they need to pop? I've had this for several months now - it's like trying to hear with pillows clamped over your ears. Some days it's worse than others, but every few weeks, ears will randomly pop for a couple of hours of normality.

I have sensorineural hearing loss in both ears due to Covid. GP should refer you to audiology.

Yes exactly like they are blocked! Spoke to nurse a few days ago who told me to do all the usual ear oil, sinus stuff but it's made zero difference- I'm sure the doctor today has only given me this antibiotic spray to shut me up- thing is I've always suffered from sinusitis so know all the tricks and it's never lasted this long or effected my ears like this. I've worked out today that it's actually when I'm laid down that I'm in agony with my ears

Yes, I had this on my fifth bout in April. Both ears felt completely blocked - like a nasty pressure, as if I was underwater. DH had it, too. It cleared after about four days. It was one of the weirder symptoms, along with the swollen smooth white tongue!

I sometimes lose my hearing when I've been poorly, with covid and other illnesses. I went 8 weeks before going to the doctor last time and he said he can't do anything until I've not been able to hear properly for 12 weeks. 2 weeks later they got better on their own but 10 weeks was a long time not being able to hear properly.
