How long until your lft was negative?

I started with symptoms on Friday and tested positive on Saturday morning. Today is day 5 and I’m still strongly positive on lft. Supposed to be on holiday on Friday. How long have people stayed positive on lft recently?

I'm afraid I was day 10/11 and my husband was day 13 (had to test daily to return to work)

Purplecatshopaholic · 20/07/2022 11:42

Tested negative on day 13.

Not until day 11/12 for DH and I, DC negative after 5/6 days

Lacedwithgrace · 20/07/2022 11:44

I tested positive for nearly a month but symptoms stopped at 8 days

I started getting fainter lines by day 10 and was negative by day 12

Are you still infectious 3/4 days after testing pos? Sorry if this stupid question.

Iwantthesummersun · 20/07/2022 12:01

Thank you. Is the conventional wisdom that you are still infectious until negative on lft? Trying to work out what this mean for holiday but also for my family who are still testing negative. I’ve been isolating at home up until this point.

I wonder this too. I feel as if I have totally lost track of what is what now.

I thought current guidance was you could return to normal life after 5 days regardless of a positive test. I could be wrong though....

dementedpixie · 20/07/2022 12:13

I didn't retest to see if I was negative again. Went back to some normality after 5 days as advised these days.

dementedpixie · 20/07/2022 12:15

You arent even asked to test in the 1st place now. If you are positive I'm sure it's advised to isolate for 3 days for kids and 5 days for adults but it's not legally binding

ByeByeMr · 20/07/2022 19:12

Me too. I'm supposed to be going back to work tmrw.

emmathedilemma · 21/07/2022 10:00

I had it when you still had to isolate for 10 days but could get out early if you had 2 negative LFTs but mine were positive right up to day 9, then I didn't bother wasting one on day 10 as it wouldn't have gained me anything. It then advised not to test for 28 days so I didn't!
