does the covid virus float up or down as it disperses??

Just that really... trying to minimise chance of others in the house catching Covid from me....

So if we are chatting, which is better? Me sitting at top of stairs and them at bottom? or me at bottom and them at top? Or on same level with 3m between us? Two flights of stairs in house...
