Hi, I'm currently 10 days in from the onset of symptoms (the scratchy throat) and I'm getting no better, infact I got worse after the first 3 days. I'm just so miserable and it's taking its toll on my just having to keep laying in my bed. Everyone else seems to get better during that time, is this just it for me 😔 looking for some comfort I suppose xxx

Hi @Magic1231 what are your symptoms now? I would try and get up a little bit now and then to test how you are, you will be woozy low blood pressure from laying down but if you feel awful then rest again. Are you eating/drinking much?

Aw hello again lovely.
Well, the throat had gone. Massive headache which seems to be worse today, you know that fluey feeling in your body, feel very out of it and zombie like. Just too poorly to do anything sigh I had a terrible virus in 2016 which left me with neurological damage, nothing noticeable to look at me apart from when I drift off to sleep my head jolts, not just that jolt we all sometimes get, but like the nerves make it jolt when I relax to sleep, along with tinnitus... anyway, that virus back then destroyed my mental health, and its scary its feeling very similar to that again xxx

The virus I had back then went on for weeks and I'm terrified its happening again xxx

Ooh, I feel your pain. I probably felt really bad for about 10 days, then it eased off a little but still feeling a bit shit now (2weeks in). Trying to rest as so scared of getting long covid (a friend has it and it’s brutal). I think everyone is potentially different so we just have to have patience,.. not my strong suit I admit!

Magic1231 · 17/07/2022 18:56

Oh bless you @Purplecatshopaholic must be a relief to feel a little better. My fear is also long covid! How did your friend get it? I mean I know how she got it, but in the sense did she get better then worse or was there no improvement?
I keep trying to rest but the anxiety that comes along with it makes it hard xxx

I’ve finally got over it and feel better for the first time today - day 15. I felt like I made no progress at all from when the fever stopped (day 7) to day 12 or so, then have been gradually better for the past 3 days. Hang in there, it will go.

@Magic1231 , my friend got covid right at the start so March 2020. Never really fully recovered - it turned into an ME-like fatigue that she still has. Hasn’t been able to work since. No one seems to know what the prognosis is, or what to do (well, why would they, it’s a new thing), so it’s just bloody scary! On the other side, I have friends who recovered completely, so you just can’t tell…

@Magic1231 sounds similar to what everyone around me is experiencing, unfortunately all you can do is ride it out; rest, hydrate, vitamins etc if possible. Stressing over long covid will make you feel worse and make you scan your symptoms mentally. Try to watch stuff that isn’t too taxing like documentaries etc, do you have a garden to get some air in for a bit?

You will start to feel better.
