What with global travel now in full swing I can't help but wonder on numbers in Europe and USA. Are you still seeing huge waves too?

I was patient zero in my house and have now taken down my dad and both kids ins matter of days. Dh has remained clear having had it a few months ago.

I just curious really and bored.

What do you mean by "taken down"? It sounds a bit dramatic!

HerRoyalNotness · 17/07/2022 00:45

I avent been checking lately but in May USA had 15,000 per day it’s now up at 167k per day. Urgh. An epidemiologist I follow writes 10-15% of Americans will be infected by Ba.5 which has arrived

Google will tell you the answer !

"Taken down" Shock?!

But yes, of course most viruses are very transmissible.

orangina01 · 17/07/2022 09:33

There's very little testing in the US compared to here but my family in disparate parts of the country say they know more people than ever with Covid. Anecdotal, non statistical evidence of course!

I also know more people here now with it in my area than ever before, so yes I think a lot of folk have caught it despite avoiding it previously.

No issue with your use of "taken out" either as can note a figure of speech 😂 and understand what you mean. Seriously some people just wait for a few words to "jump on". 🤦‍♀️

Hope you, your dad and kids feel better soon. I know may people now who feel it has "taken them out of action, ie they have been stuck in bed for days. Rest up!

Sorry you said "taken down" but my opinion on that wording still stands and is understood. 😂

Crikey it's a figure of speech.

Lighten up guys.

But big thanks to those who have taken the trouble to reply

I guess hospitalisation data in the us would be the key indicator if there isn’t much testing happening. But I have no idea where to get that info. I too have been wondering op. Is your dad ok with his covid? Does he have it relatively mildly?

faffadoodledo · 17/07/2022 13:07

OP was obv being ironic and light hearted with the phrase 'taken down'
Made me smile
