Covid headache - help!

Covid finally got me and the headaches are unbelievable. Tested positive on Thursday but yesterdays headache.... wow. I vomitted. Eventually got to sleep in the early hours and as soon as I woke this AM I was straight on the painkillers (even tho the head was fine) but it's now back. I want to rip my head off.

Any tips?

No tips, just solidarity. I suffer from migraines and the pain from COVID is far worse...I'm also pregnant so can only take paracetamol and it doesn't even touch it.
Hoping we feel better soon!

Ibuprofen and paracetamol worked for me some of the time but had to resort to cocodamol and ibuprofen a few times. Just coming through the other side of this now.

Hope you feel better soon

I took Triptans, because I suffer from migraines and had them in the house. They helped a lot but didn’t get rid off it.

I,also, took 2 soluble paracetamol and 3 soluble aspirin in a glass of full fat coke. That works well. It’s not something I made up, btw, it was recommended by the National Migraine Centre.

I hope you start to feel better soon. It’s awful. 💐

TheRealMrsJamieFraser · 16/07/2022 16:19

Oh, and I took every 4hrs for several days

Phrenologistsfinger · 16/07/2022 16:21

Lots of water and electrolytes.

IbizaToThNorfolkBroads · 16/07/2022 16:25

I had this on Jubilee weekend. Lots of carbs, water and paracetamol/ibuprofen and rest helped manage it, but not clear it.

I don't know if it was Covid - I also kept getting nosebleeds (not that unusual for me) do I couldn't get a clean swab. I was overwhelmed with fatigue though, and didn't go anywhere for a week anyway.

LittleMy77 · 16/07/2022 16:53

Mine was awful ( and im still getting them now 8 days after I finally tested negative) I alternated ibuprofen and paracetamol and on the worst day I had an ice gel pack cold compress and laid with it on my head

AscotHat · 16/07/2022 17:44

At least I'm mot alone. I had heard that covid headaches were bad but I was not expecting this at all! Most people I know who have had it themselves have all been "yeah, it was grand. Bit of a head cold. Would hardly have known I had it".

Lucky them!!!

I've got aches, a cough, phlegm and I can cope with those.

I've just vomitted again and that seems to have shifted it a bit.

🌺for everyone suffering!

I had to take strong cocodamol and ibuprofen which only just took the edge of it. I took decongestant in desperation and they help a fair bit. Didn't take it away completely but definitely helped enough to get a sleep

The covid headache is like no other. The absolute worst. Triple jabbed here and couldn't believe how poorly I was with covid as a young ish person!!! It was horrendous. I get migraines which are horrible but with migraines I normally throw up and then sleep it off. This headache with covjd was so painful I couldn't even sleep. I walked around for about 24 hours with cold flannels on my head and eyes. I don't think it helped much tbh but felt like I needed to do something. It will get better.

AhaLyn · 16/07/2022 18:43

The only thing that helped me was to sleep through it and keep ip with paracetamol every 4 hours. Horrible hope it eases soon for you.

if someone can nip out for you these really helped me, obviously won't get rid of the headache but are really soothing.
