Periods and Covid

I haven't name changed so it is clear this isn't a troll post!

I had Covid on 23 June (week I was supposed to ovulate). I was then due on 10 days ago and nothing has turned up.

Ive been having some PMS e.g one off cramps, back pain etc but just nothing has turned up!!

I did a pregnancy test today just in case and they are negative (did red dye and a digital).

Has anyone else had this? Today is cycle day 48 and the longest ever obviously disregarding when I was pregnant. I know with the jabs it delayed me for a week but this is something else!

Yup, I think covid does wreak havoc with periods…

peterpiperpickedapiece · 16/07/2022 14:43

The last 2 jabs have ruined my cycle

DD20 didn't have one at all for 8 months after Covid! It's now come back with a vengeance and she's bleeding every three weeks.

elephantmarchingin · 16/07/2022 15:40

Oh gosh. It's so worrying for context it 24 so it can't be nearing menopause etc

I'm averaging a 48 day cycle since getting covid. I quite like it 🙃

I tested positive on Friday, my period was due on Tuesday next week. I've started this morning 3 days early. I am Peri though so it could be that as I have had a few shorter cycles.

My period was 3 weeks late after covid and I am very regular. The problem is, as I’m in my early 40s so it could be put down to age.

SuperheroBirds · 17/07/2022 10:15

I had the opposite, I stared an unexpected period the day I started having covid symptoms and I’ve had irregular frequent periods ever since (8 months ago). So yes, covid can definitely impact periods. I’ve had another friend with a similar thing.

I had long covid for 18 months, caught it in March 2020. My periods were all over the place for 2 full years, am only now back to some regularity. It's common I think. Worrying too.

Just can't stop panicking! Would have thought a positive test would've shown by now?
