Holiday days and sick days

There's a solicitor on tiktok that says if you are on holidayss from work and get sick and if you are able to produce a sick cert to your employer you can get those holiday days back.

I had time booked off from work last week and on the very first day off, I became ill and it was covid.

I'm just wondering should I be phoning the doctors surgery to ask for a sick note for last week so that I can get those days back to be again? I notified public health online about my covid positive result and it asked for my GP in the process so it should be logged somewhere.

I would love to get those days back if I can.

I don't get holidays often.

You should be able to self certify for a week.

GP won't give you a sick line until you've been ill for 7 days.
It's self-certification before that. You can get the form from your employer,
Does your work have HR? Company policies you can look up?

Usually you can claim back holiday if you are sick during your annual leave. But what you have to do depends on your work's sickness absence policy. You may find you had to speak to a manager on your first day of illness just like if you were at work.

But fill in the self-cert form snd submit it. If you don't ask you won't get
