When did your chest symptoms start?

Hi

Tested positive for the first time on Saturday night and felt pretty rough until this afternoon. My main symptoms were massive headache, pain in joints and all over body skin sensitivity (a lot like flu) no runny nose, loss of smell etc but sore throat started today.

For context I have health anxiety, so I just wanted to find out if the cough or breathing issues came later or sooner for people who have recovered.

Tia!

You might not get a cough or breathing issues at all. Everyone experiences Covid differently.
I know you want an answer so you can reassure yourself, but the truth is that you just have to wait and see how it pans out for you.
I hope you feel better soon.

When I had first covid coughing was the first symptom and it was pretty bad like a wracking dry cough but I had it back in 2020, I have got covid again now and the cough is VERY minor like Ive had 2/3 short coughing fits today and I'm just tired. Although I don't want to speak too soon touches wood

None of us in our house had a cough. We had headaches and sore throats and sinus pain.

SloppyHousekeeper · 05/07/2022 07:06

I have tested negative this morning after 11 days of being positive. It felt like a very long time!

I did not have any chest problems. My cough was not bad more of an occasional cough. I felt tired with headaches and a sore throat at my worst.

SloppyHousekeeper · 05/07/2022 07:07

I should have said my cough came on day 1.

overthinkersanonnymus · 05/07/2022 08:00

Thanks all! I'm slightly optimistic that I've had no chest symptoms considering I've have been quite poorly looking back.

My throat feels like a cactus now lives in there so it's difficult to drink. Also!! My dreams have been so random!

Not sure what day to start testing for a negative? I imagine once my throat is no longer sore?

Cough was my first symptom, on day 5 now and still got a tight chest.

overthinkersanonnymus · 06/07/2022 10:28

Update- I'm on day 4 now and touch wood, I haven't had any chest issues up to now🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

TMI but I had horrible vomiting and diarrhea in the night until about 4am. I know in the grand scheme of recovery it's still fairly early but I'm just so fed up now. The skin on my back is so sensitive, it feels like sunburn, and my throat feels like I've swallowed razor blades 😫

Really hope I turn a corner soon 🥺
