Today is day 6 for me. My cough and cold symptoms are much better, but I can barely walk without needing to sit down/ feeling breathless. I can't drive, need to walk to work and am on my feet most of the day. I've felt like this since Saturday. At the moment I feel like I'll never be able to walk everywhere again. I guess I'm looking for reassurance from others as to when I might be able to walk distances again. Thanks.

I felt the same when I had it in March. But it gradually comes back. I've got covid again now so am feeling how you say you are. But I keep reminding myself that it gradually gets better. I promise!

You will feel better - your body is fighting an illness and needs time

in fact I felt like you only last week after a recent infection but already feel much more like myself today

not planning to run a marathon any time soon mind

I had it 2 months ago. 5 days of feeling mildly under the weather (still well enough to work from home) and then I got hit by a fatigue like I have never known. Even the smallest effort (mental or physical) exhausted me. I too was worried I’d never feel normal again. But, it only lasted about another week. I took iron supplement (liquid one), massive doses of Vit C, Vit D and a magnesium supplement. Also made sure to eat as healthy a diet as possible. I have no idea if any of that helped, or if it just ran its course. But the most important thing was proper rest. As in really doing nothing more strenuous than watching trashy Netflix shows or listening to podcasts in bed. Don’t try and ‘push through it’.

For me, it was 2 weeks between first symptom and feeling relatively normal again. So hang in there!
