Wooly Head

Anyone else have this and how long does it last? Only way I can describe it is it feels like the inside of my head is made of wool.

I'm on day 6 and feeling much better apart from this. Driving me mad!

Yes it's shit, sorry!

Everyone is different, my elderly parents seem to be better after a month. Dh was ok after 2 weeks. It took about 3 months for me. Some people seem to bounce back after a week.

Ok, thank you! Just knowing that other people have experienced this and I'm not going mad is helpful!

How would you describe it? It's almost like a dizzy / light headedness too I guess. My head feels swimmy.

I'm on Day 4 and know exactly what you mean. DH is on Day 7 - he was almost back to normal yesterday but has relapsed today.

Ruby0707 · 04/07/2022 18:00

It's horrible isn't it?!

I'm still testing very positive so hoping there's a correlation between that and the fuzzy head and it will start to fade soon. Fingers crossed 🤞

Unfortunately it is one of my ongoing long covid symptoms and has been on and off for 4+ months

Ruby0707 · 04/07/2022 21:25

Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it goes away for you eventually.

I’m week 3 and still got brain fog 😶‍🌫️!!

WarriorN · 06/07/2022 21:26

Day 4? 5? And it's definitely lifting - but I had this virus in Jan/ feb. And I'm afraid it lasted weeks. Possibly 2-3 months, I can't actually remember when it lifted. It was v gradual. I've doubled my hrt over that time too though so may also have helped.

Elderlycatwoes · 07/07/2022 12:07

Interesting I am on day 5 here and all symptoms gone now except have just developed this woozy feeling like I have just stepped off a theme park ride when I walk around. It’s really disconcerting. I didn’t have this previous days but I did have slight earache so wonder if it is linked to this. Haven’t done another LFT yet but assume it is still positive

Oh my god I'm so glad I found this thread! I was about to start one on the same thing. I'm actually nearly a week post recovery and unfortunately it is still there. My head feels like it's full of cotton wool, tired, hard to concentrate and I'm intermittently feeling dizzy and spacy, like coming off a rollercoaster is exactly how it feels! DH has the same thing, we were hoping it was hayfever (even though I've never had that) but I took an antihistamine and it's still no better. It's so annoying, I really hope it doesn't last much longer!

LIZS · 08/07/2022 13:37

Yes. Largely recovered otherwise but left with heavy tired feeling behind the eyes and struggling to think straight,

JS87 · 08/07/2022 13:50

Took me three weeks to shift it completely. I often get this side effect with viruses and also strangely the day after exercise. I started taking nicotinic acid (flush form of vit B3) as that is supposed to help. I got better but no idea if I would have without it anyway.
