Swab soaking up all the liquid

My Dh tested positive on Tuesday and the test worked fine. He tried doing a test yesterday but it didn't work because the swab seemed to soak up all the liquid so there was no liquid left to drop onto the test. He's tried seven today and exactly the same has happened. We notice everytime we squeeze the liquid in it bubbles up.

I have just tried a test in exactly the same way and although the liquid bubbled up with my sample the liquid doesn't get soaked up. These are the blue NHS ones.

Anyone else encountered this problem or is he just a freak? Can we double up the liquid maybe this will work. He needs a negative test really for an event tomorrow but if we can't get test to work he will have to miss it.

yeah i did notice some don't have enough liquid on them. You're meant to squeeze the bud on its way out of the pot thingy with the edges of the pot to help retain some liquid. Also don't put the lid on the pot thing, just pour it straight onto the test (if there is a lid). you could also do two I guess (combine liquid of two).

Yes squeeze the swab. And I agree try pouring it without the lid, on some of the ones I've got it all gets trapped in the lid somehow?!
