Post Covid lingering cough

I had Covid two months ago. Was ill for around 2 weeks and then felt back to normal. Had a really annoying cough that also died down as soon as I was better but now it seems to have come back with a vengeance. No other Covid symptoms. Have tested a few times and all negative. I feel fine apart from the cough. Has anyone else had this when their Covid cough has come back?

I'm supposed to be flying next week - already dreading the dirty looks I'm going to get!

Maybe get a ventolin inhaler, could help. If I ever have a chest infection it always lingers forever, an inhaler does help to open up the airways.

I had a mild case of Covid, and 6 weeks on still have a cough. Went the dr as it felt a bit asthmatic and was told up to 3 months for a Covid cough 😱

Also recently did a long haul flight. Lots of people coughing on the flight, no dirty looks.

I'm just worried as I'm having full on coughing fits and the pressure of trying not to cough on the plane plus wearing a mask is only going to make it worse.

I have been on flights before with people coughing recently and I guess you do just try to ignore it and pray that person is Covid free!

I wonder if I could get my GP to prescribe me one in time for my trip!

Yep 9 weeks for me, it improved for a week and came back! The coughing fits are further apart but still happening!! Also wheezing the moment I'm not vertical!! I was told the same as VioletToes!

I’ve got covid cough too. A friend recommended some breathing exercises which have really helped. Basically sitting up take a deep breath, hold for 5 sec and exhale slowly. Repeat 5 more times. On the sixth, do a cough at the end.

repeat again.

then lie on your tummy on the floor/bed and breathe in deeply for 10 mins and relax.

do when you can at various times during the day. I’ve found this has really helped.

I read that singing or playing a recorder helpful. Exercise the lungs. Inhaler does help. Even a chesty cold lingers with me for weeks

I am the same! A cough after a bad cold stays with me for months which is why I was so surprised my Covid cough disappeared so quickly. Except it hadn't really! It seems to be dying down again luckily so hopefully the flight should be OK, fingers crossed!
