Minor day operation on Tuesday at local hospital . On Saturday I have to go to general hospital for a covid test then isolation until the operation. Is this national edict or just my health board, it's also masks for on entry to the health care settings in our health board still

I had to do the same thing for my op. Seems reasonable given high numbers in hospital at the moment, I was happy to do it.

National. Assuming the op is under general anaesthetic, that's aerosol generating, which means transmission risk is high. Plus we know GA is more risky for people who have/have recently had covid, even if it's of the just a bit of a cold type, so it makes sense for your own safety too.

No not general it's cataract surgery. Sounds like I'm more likely to catch it in hospital than out 🙈
