So I have never had a positive lft test or pcr (even when I have felt terrible and thought must be covid).
2 of kids caught covid this week and have been in with them all week since Monday.
Last 2 days have a terrible sore throat and the feeling of a chest infection brewing (you know when between your throat and chest hurts). Light headed and exhausted. Negative lft. Not been anywhere and only have my covid positive kids in the house. Has this happened to anyone else?
My partner never tested positive either. Have done the test right.

I had the symptoms you're describing and I didn't test positive until day 3. You may find that tomorrow you test positive.

Hiddenvoice · 25/06/2022 17:29

I had the same symptoms and didn’t get a positive test until 5 days in and at that point I was starting to feel better. My tests stayed positive for 10 days after though.

LadyCampanulaTottington · 25/06/2022 17:31

I had all the symptoms and didn’t test positive for 7 days when I was already feeling better. I also had a negative PCR before getting a positive one after the positive LFT.

Its a weird virus!

Gilead · 26/06/2022 03:33

Day three before I tested positive.

Mummy289 · 26/06/2022 07:58

It’s still negative, day three, my whole body aches like I have flu, chesty tight cough, keeping getting hot and cold and a terrible headache 😭.
frustrating to say the least

We were all like this at Easter but never tested positive. Can only assume it wasn't Covid - we dubbed it Novid.

Numbat2022 · 26/06/2022 08:02

Did you swab your throat as well as nose? You're more likely to get a positive that way.

Otherwise I'd say just give it another day or two, it doesn't always show up immediately.

SpaceyCake · 26/06/2022 08:18

I'm the same with Novid. DH tested positive on Thursday and on Friday I started feeling rough and Covidy (have had Covid before), but no positive test so far! Last time round it took ages for DH to get a positive test after the rest of us had our positive tests, so I'm assuming I'll get a positive test in the next couple of days.

Hereforthelaugh · 26/06/2022 08:20

I was consistently negative on nose swab tests, did a throat one and the line was very thick!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/06/2022 08:22

I had Novid too! Literally a text book case of symptoms. No positive test.

My Mum who I saw the first day I was feeling rough, tested positive strongly about 4 days after seeing me.

Almost a month later I still don't feel "right" - my lungs feel like they have cotton wool at the bottom and when I run, I can't get enough breath in.

Mummy289 · 26/06/2022 08:23

Thanks I did test my throat too. Only have one test left now 🤦🏼‍♀️.
I feel awful and literally not been out the house all week. Although I’m not snotty just phlegm on my chest and my chest is tight. cant stand up without feeling giddy.

I had covid badly back last year, lateral flows were negative all the way through, PCR positive.

Mummy289 · 26/06/2022 08:25

@Chesneyhawkes1 that sounds awful. Maybe some people just don’t test positive?

DS never tested positive though he was quite ill. When we caught whatever it was from him, DH and I both tested positive. Same for a couple of friends.

Mummy289 · 26/06/2022 08:26

Anyone know where the best place is to buy the covid tests? Was hoping Amazon had some lol

I'm feeling exactly the same. I started on Wednesday with it and I honestly thought it was covid. I've done numerous tests but they're all negative. I've felt shocking, today I feel slightly better though.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 26/06/2022 08:47

@Mummy289 I think you are right.

I've had a few bugs / viruses over the last 2 years, not had a single positive test.

I'm starting to think I'm immune or just can't produce a positive test!

It's not like I hid away for covid either, during the first lockdown I was at hospital every day for treatment and then I returned to work in public transport.

Mummy289 · 27/06/2022 04:00

Last night/tonight it reached my throat and nose very stuff and sneezing so much feel awful being in the same room as hubby and baby 😭.
Just tested and it’s now positive!
So for me, it started as a chest pain (like when a cold starts going to your chest but without the cold).
-then body aches
-my skin even hurt (breastfeeding been painful)
-dizzy
-light headed and headache
-day 3 now have snotty nose and sore throat

incase it helps anyone else.
