Is there a different bug around?

Had Covid for 10 days in early May. Yesterday had body ache, tired, and tickle nose. Today tired, sneezing and light runny nose. I tested today morning and was negative. Is there another bug doing the rounds or am I really unlucky that I’ve caught it again??

Polio and monkeypox are going around.

I didn't get a positive test until 24 hours after symptoms started

Polio and monkeypox are going around.

It's a lot more likely it's just another cold or flu strain than polio or monkeypox 😂

My eldest daughter has been off school now for over a week with a cough, sore throat, high temp and is generally unwell. I came down with the same yesterday and feel terrible, burning hot and then shivering with cold, brain fog, cough, sore throat and extreme tiredness.

Both of us have had negative lateral flow tests so it must be another virus. Pretty nasty one though.

MyGiddyAunt1 · 24/06/2022 16:45

@CopperLily hope you both feel better soon. I’m not having a temperature but generally feeling pretty run down - along with the sneezing, tiredness etc.

Really disappointed to see that even after lockdown etc not many cover when sneezing or coughing… general hygiene levels are pretty low! Everywhere you go there is an adult!! coughing or sneezing in your face…

I think so - I had a light round of Covid 3 weeks ago, followed by really bad hayfever that week the pollen count was so high, then my husband, one of the kids & I all came down with a FIERCE cold that had us coughing and snotty and gross for about a week. All negative tests, compared to my VERY positive tests 10 days earlier. I have mild asthma and it really affected my chest in a way Covid doesn't (have had Covid 3 times now).

Other child escaped but is moaning about a sore throat today.

Only difference is that it wasn't heralded by the absolute exhaustion that comes with Covid.

There is a pretty nasty cold going around complete with body aches, temp etc. Not as bad as flu but worse than a little cold

Yes mine is the same…it’s all in the head. I’m really freaking out that I’ll end up in the hospital with breathing difficulties…☹️

I’ve not had the booster but had Covid last month..so not sure if I have protection or not…that is if this is a different variant evading LFTs

Think there’s a new virus, my sister has had aches, sore throat, chills since Monday, all negative tests. Everyone else in the house is okay at the moment. She didn’t have a fever, just the chills. It was all strange.
