Covid experience

We have avoided it for the whole pandemic, but I tested positive for covid yesterday. I started feeling unwell on Monday night with a sore throat and woke up Tuesday with full on snot fest, blocked sinuses and dizziness. Did a LFT and it was negative, so just thought a cold and also suffering bad from hayfever. Went about my normal business and started to feel better as the week went on. Then woke up yesterday with everything aching, a cough and a sore tongue/mouth, so tested again and came up positive.

My DS (2yr10m) has had a runny nose all week but today has a temp of 38, still has the runny nose and a slight cough, still running around as normal though. DH also started with a sore throat, runny nose and slight cough. Both have tested negative this morning.

My question is, has anyone felt poorly but not tested positive until 5 days in? Just wondering what to expect with the other two in the house.

My DH and DS1 tested positive 5 days before me, I had symptoms so presumed I had it, but not yet testing positive. The only positive was that I was further long isolation wise.

My DH tested positive 2 days after me, and my DS has all the same symptoms as us but he wouldn't let us test, just screamed and thrashed about so we've just assumed he has got it.

I need some reassurance that this awful exhaustion and brain fog will lift. I also have no appetite at all, which is not like me, and DS is the same which is definitely not like him, hes barely touched a scrap for days.

I was supposed to have a job interview Wednesday, then we postponed to tomorrow but I'm still not feeling good, and still testing positive. Tomorrow will be 7 days since positive test. We've now rearranged for first thing Monday as that's all they have time wise and I'm gonna have to go whatever cos I don't think they will rearrange again.

I can WFH if needed but I just haven't had it in me, my house is a tip cos even the bare minimum is wiping me out.

I just need it to eff off now!!
