Anyone never test positive on lat flow?

My dc have covid, symptomatic and coughing on me all the time. Positive lines straight away on lat flows. I feel rough sore throat, temp, cough yet still negative. I've had 3 jabs. Two az and moderna booster. Do I have covid or not?

I tested positive before I had any symptoms (started later that day) whereas my mum obviously had covid, was really quite ill, but didn't test positive until 3 days after her symptoms started. So, you may find it takes a few more days to show up, but if your kids have it then there's a good chance your symptoms mean you've caught it.

My husband had mild symptoms and a positive pcr but never showed up on a lateral flow (regular checks to see if it did because we were nosy about it).

Anything there?

I can see a faint positive there but could be the light

WeBuiltThePyramids · 15/06/2022 21:26

DD(15) never got a positive lateral flow, despite having positive PCRs and being really ill with it. She kept doing daily LFTs out of sheer morbid curiosity but it never showed up (the rest of us subsequently caught it but we all got positive LFTs).

Fiveinthebed22 · 15/06/2022 21:29

There’s definitely a faint line there, one of my dc’s tests was even fainter so they can be easy to miss

Frazzled2207 · 15/06/2022 21:33

I believe I have had covid twice, though in neither case was I particularly poorly. Second time my LFTs were strong, first time never tested positive. So I totally believe it’s possible.

AbsoluteShambles · 15/06/2022 21:37

Every time I’ve done a lateral flow (lots) they’ve looked like that - it’s never actually turned into a proper line even though I’ve expected it to.

I don’t think that’s a faint positive.

Lacedwithgrace · 15/06/2022 21:41

Definitely a second line on that!

JaninaDuszejko · 15/06/2022 21:44

I've never tested positive. I suspect I had Covid right at the beginning in April 2020 but obviously couldn't test at that point. My family all got Covid last summer, I tested regularly but never had a positive. I had a bad cold in October 2021 and didn't test positive (neither did my sister who was visiting and got the same cold). Been a strange 2 years, even with WFH I've had colds but never tested positive.

Branleuse · 15/06/2022 21:49

Thats a positive

Dementedswan · 15/06/2022 21:50

Ah never! I hoped I was imagining things. Cev with three jabs and severe health anxiety

I can see a faint line but my DS always gets a line like that on the flowflex. If you've got a spare test do one today and it'll probably be darker if real.

Dementedswan · 17/06/2022 22:19

Guess that's confirmed

How are you feeling op? I started with a scratchy throat on Wednesday night and didn’t really think much of it but yesterday started feeling under the weather. I did two tests and both had the faintest of lines so I’m assuming I’m positive. My throat is really sore this morning and I’m coughing lots. Feel ridiculously sad to have caught it now after three years of managing to avoid it!

Welshrarebit75 · 18/06/2022 09:22

I have never tested positive. Between Christmas and new year I was really poorly (couldn’t get out of bed), and I took weeks to recover. I tested regularly and nothing.

Just recovering from another very heavy cold (again no positive tests), that knocked me out (although not anywhere near start of the Year).

I’ve accepted ever vaccination Ive been offered, and still don’t go to anything extremely crowded.

Me. I did wonder whether it was anything to do with my asthma inhaler. Although unlikely.
