Could this be/have been covid? And coughing from 8pm but not during the day is driving me mad. Help!

Sorry, million dollar question I know. Just looking for thoughts.

I went on holiday with my sister last week, in a caravan. She was recovering from covid but when we met up for hols, it was 11 days after she tested positive. She also didn’t test as soon as she had symptoms because she didn’t have a test at the time.

Our trip on the Saturday. On Wednesday of last week I started to have a weird feeling like there was something in my throat/chest where the 2 collarbones meet, but inside. I didn’t think much of this at first but by Friday I had a sore throat and by Sunday so just over a week ago) I started with a cough. No other symptoms.

I did a LFT that was negative but I wonder is it possible I could have got covid from my sister even though she was over 10 days post test and was also testing neg by this point?

Also I find in broadly find during the day and then by the time 8pm rolls around and I want to sit and watch TV or whatever I start to cough, and it’s disrupting both my evenings and my sleep - 4 nights on the spin now and because there aren’t that many symptoms during the day I sort of forget about it, but then get really fed up when it’s the evening and it begins all over again. I find I have a lot of phlegm on my chest in the mornings but once that’s all cleared the rest of the day is fine.

Does this sounds like anyone else’s experience of covid and if so, how did you get rid of the evening coughing and why does it happen when it is not a problem in the day? Taking the Wednesday when I noticed vague symptoms I’m now on day 9 of whatever this is ….

Hi There. I would say it may be allergies. There is a lot of pollen around and dust. Not sure where you live though (I am in England). I am sure covid is a dry cough. I am suffering with allergies at the moment (high pollen count in the UK).
Cough until I am sick.. Worse at night and mornings, and yes, loads of phlegm. Been like it for 3 weeks now. I am pregnant too, so that doesn't help. Hope you get better soon. Never had covid, but did actually get tested for whooping cough....thankfully it isn't.

I'm sure that someone will have had a similar exerience with covid as we all know it has pretty much every cold type symptom amongst other things but equally there are loads of other reasons for coughing

Personally I don't see that it matters after so many days as there's nothing you can really do to cure covid if is that

Allergy or reflux.
