On what day did you test negative?

I started with covid symptoms last Tuesday (cough, muscle aches, fatigue and headache) However i didnt test positive until Thursday.
I am mostly OK, just a bit of a dry throat and a bit congested now, worst day I had was probable the 2 days before I tested positive.
So, just wondered when people started to test negative?

Day 7 after symptoms. But I'm genuinely wondering why you are testing at this stage in the pandemic? There are a heck of a lot of people wondering around now with covid, and that will be the situation forever more. Go to your son's event if you are feeling well, just as you should for for any illness.

As someone who is entering week 13 of long Covid, thank you for testing. But I think if you follow the “old” guidance you are unlikely to be infectious after day 10 from start of symptoms (not + test) so you should be fine by Sat either way?

I tested positive yesterday. You only need to isolate for 5 days now.

I have to test for work if I have symptoms and I've an exam at uni today that I've to test for. As I feel generally fine I did a speculative test yesterday and it was still quite a strong positive (though not sure the strength of it makes a lot of difference).
Beyond that I don't think I will test as it will just drive me mad. I'm wfh the rest of this week anyway so may just go by the "unlikely to be infectious after 10 days"
The only concern I have is that people have become so obsessed with the "2 negative tests" idea that I'm going to end up some kind of pariah.
The chances are there will be people at the event with covid they just won't be testing.

Though I think some of the confusion lies with the nhs guidance. Which states that you can be infectious for up to 10 days after your infection starts.....which would be when you get symptoms no?
But then in the next paragraph states that it begins from the day of your positive test.......

I was still getting strong positives on Day 10 and 11. Day 12 it started to fade, day 13 was quite pale - and then I stopped testing!

I had to test for an exam yesterday. Still positive. Luckily I could take it online.
I've decided I'm just not testing anymore now. No point.
Working at home the rest of this week anyway and just going to wear a mask when I pop out.

I tested positive (second round) on 25 April. Still blazing positive tests now (tested because DP had it). It can’t be a third go of it!
