I’m on day 7 and this is my LFTs for the last 6 days- it’s not changing? Not even fading?

When will I be negative?

I was still testing bright positive on day 12...

MyGiddyAunt1 · 10/05/2022 11:43

Oh! So should I just ignore this and carry on?

Yeah that's what I did by day 9

canyon2000 · 10/05/2022 12:42

I tested negative on day 10.

Ok- just worried that I might deteriorate suddenly-some posts here say that symptoms returned on day 7/8 etc so feel nervous

It depends to be honest so you never know. My worst days were day 1 and day 4. Otherwise I felt ok, just a bit of a cold.

canyon2000 · 10/05/2022 15:59

I felt worst on day 2 and 3 and from day 4 onwards I felt fine. I was surprised it took so long for me to test negative!

CompostMaker · 10/05/2022 16:01

After day 10 you stop testing anyway and are presumed not to be infectious - see government guidelines.
You will probably very quickly turn negative. Mine went from very positive day 7 to weak on day 8 and negative on day 9.

Yellowmellow2 · 10/05/2022 21:30

There’s no requirement to test or wait to be negative any more. It is just suggested that you should keep away from others for 5 days if you do do an initial test and it’s positive. Stop testing!

Adarajames · 10/05/2022 23:36

Can be up to 90 days or more after infection for some people before they start to test negative

Glitterandunicorns · 11/05/2022 00:32

@MyGiddyAunt1 I continued to test positive for 10 days when I had it a few months ago.
I know there will be people who say that the Government guidelines said 5 days then go about your business, but please don't go and mix with folks if you're still testing positive. A positive test shows you're still infectious.
Government guidelines were only ever changed to pander to people for whom Covid was a terrible inconvenience, economically speaking.

I hope you're feeling better soon.
