Day 8 negative test, am I infectious?

I’m still blocked up, snotty, headache, tired, sore throat and the most annoying thickly cough which when I start, I can’t stop. I went out yesterday but kept having coughing fits and was worried that people would think I was infectious. If my test is negative does that mean I’m not?

I'm in Scotland, where isolation is still mandatory, however providing we have 2 lateral flows on day 6/7 (or any two consecutive days after) we can leave iso providing we don't have a high temp. Our guidance does state you may have a cough amongst other symptoms for a few weeks.
