Covid relapse?

Mama427 · 17/04/2022 20:05

I had started with covid three weeks ago and had sore throat only. I only know it was covid because another family member had it so I took a test and it was positive. By day 8 I tested negative and felt fine so was back out and about.

Come day 18 I have a throat so sore I can just about swallow and unbearable pain in my knees, ankles and wrists. I spoke to 111 and they said sounds viral, rest and take painkillers. Anyone else had this? Could it be I'm still fighting off covid and had a period of feeling fine for a week in between? Or maybe it's not linked to the covid and it's something new entirely?

I’m thinking this same thing! Does anyone else have symptoms after testing negative? I’m with you OP!

ManyATime · 17/04/2022 20:12

Are you ovulating/premenstrual?

RedSnail · 17/04/2022 20:13

I’m the same, don’t know if it’s bad timing and I had a couple days of feeling okay and then caught a bad cold / mild flu, or if it’s a covid relapse

hupfpferd · 17/04/2022 20:22

I'm the same. Had Covid quite bad (obv not in the grand scheme of things but not just a "cold").
Now it's nearly 4 weeks later and I've had a sore throat on and off.
Still coughing in the night too. Goes away for a bit and then comes back.

Mama427 · 17/04/2022 20:41

@ManyATime no, but intrigued why that would be relevant?

Maybe I'm not alone then! Its weird isn't it, I've had a week of feeling fine and then floored!

I could've written your post. In fact, I only came on to ask if anyone else is getting resurgent symptoms. I'm struggling again today after a day or two of starting to feel my throat and cough were better. They're back with a vengeance and I'm feeling very low after over 3 weeks of this shit. Apart from fatigue, my very first big symptom was a 'thrushy' sore throat and it feels like ages ago it started. I've had a 10 day course of doxycycline in the meantime, so I feel extra cheated Hmm

Sorry for being so me-me-me, hope you all feel much better very soon 🤞

My symptoms came and went in a fairly regular cyclical way for about a year. I think I’m ok now. I had it when I was unvaccinated.

Covidwoes · 17/04/2022 21:44

I had a second bout of Covid at the end of January, and have had sore throats regularly since! So annoying!

Realitea · 17/04/2022 21:45

I think I’ve had it for three weeks now. Started to get better then symptoms returned. I think it’s common.

grafittiartist · 17/04/2022 22:15

Reassuring to read. Have just gotten the cough and runny nose again after initially getting it 3 weeks ago.

SpeedofaSloth · 17/04/2022 22:22

I wonder if you have picked up another bug, with bad timing? Lots of flu about in my area just now, unfortunately.

L0stinCyberspace · 19/04/2022 23:01

I was just about to post the same thing. Covid a month ago, (sore throat, coughing, sneezing, low fevers, brain fog, exhausted, chest pains and my asthma got quite bad but I got over that) , now I've got the sore throat, coughing and low fevers back again Sad. WTF? I had 2 weeks in the middle where I felt fine. I was back at work, went out for late drinks with friends and felt OK, got my walks in again although I was only able for one third of what I'd normally do...
Now it feels like Covid is back?

Realitea · 20/04/2022 07:29

I have this 😞 felt better after two weeks, went back to work, started gardening, finally getting on top of things again only for it to resurface on day sixteen. First it was a tight chest and scratchy throat all over again then yesterday I slept the whole day and had a temperature and no appetite. I feel like I have it all over again and it sounds quite a common thing to happen

Narcoanonymoose · 20/04/2022 07:31

Very common to have this for months afterwards, particularly the sore joints.

How did you handle it? Did you rest up each time it came back, or take painkillers and pushed on through?

I walked at least 2 miles today. The light was beautiful this morning and really inspired me. But halfway along I really began to slow down, my body felt heavy. My chest has been tight since, my energy levels so low I'm considering going to sleep very soon even though it's still light. Already in bed! I started with fatigue and horrid sore throat around March 24th, then 2 weeks later felt hit by a bus and tested a very firm positive. Throat still not right, breathing a bit asthmatic, energy levels not great, headaches almost every day, odd aches and pains, etc. Probably shouldn't have walked so far today and need to pace myself better in case I really go backwards.
