Ugh it's like a cold & flu mixed together.

I've been really stressed past few months. Redundancy, interviews. Major life changes. 😞

Same here - less than a month into my new job too! Was hoping I'd be over the worse of it this long weekend but seem to be getting worse everyday 😩

Yellowleadbetter · 17/04/2022 12:46

Me too!
2 years I’ve avoided it, in the eye of the storm.
Then a Costa coffee and bam… here it is.
Flu mixed in with a heavy head cold.
Feel shocking.
Fuming.

NaiceHamAndHugs · 17/04/2022 13:11

Hi! I’d like to join the club please.

I was prepared for the worst and despite my temp reaching 39 and a bit of a sniffle, I’ve fortunately been ok.

16yo DS had it a month ago and was floored for days! He hasn’t yet been for his booster whereas I’ve had all of mine. I guess also that mine could be a different variant, but it came on very fast after I was exposed to a colleague on Thursday who only tested positive on Friday night.

It’s such a strange virus. Hope everyone feels better soon!

Bailey48 · 17/04/2022 14:32

It got me too I have been on trains /hugging people /work , children been at school and my son brings it home from Mac Donald's ! Floored me for a day but day 7 and feel better and negative

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 17/04/2022 14:39

Me too, but only had one day of feeling terrible.

I seem to have Covid insomnia though. And that’s awful

wonkygorgeous · 17/04/2022 14:42

Strange virus. I had no symptoms at all for three days. I tested as I was coughing slightly for an hour of what was the beginning of day 3 and it was very positive.

I'm about a week on now and feeling wiped out like I've had flu. It hit me like a tonne of bricks on day 3-4 and still reeling.

It's so dry. My eyes are watering, I'm thirsty all the time with a dry hacking cough that just vanishes for hours then reappears.

I've infected my husband who is following my infection symptoms almost day by day.

It's horrible and we are triple vaccinated. No sore throats though, so I'm hoping this is the omicron X variant.

Glad to be getting antibodies to take us through to the next booster. We are both CEV and I'm relieved to not have needed hospital.

Bacardi101 · 17/04/2022 14:54

Same here also CEV and feel so unwell have some antibiotics but Easter is pretty much ruined feel pretty sorry for myself but it could be worse! On day 4 today and honestly worried I’m going to go down hill further! Hope your all feeling better soon! X

Kenworthington · 17/04/2022 15:15

Me too! A group of us went out Saturday night. We all came down with it from Monday onwards. Yesterday I was testing strong positive and felt absolutely horrific but I think 🤞🏼🤞🏼I may be coming out the other side. The headache and snottiness has been the worse. I’ve been super emotional as well which is so unlike me.

Scandishores222 · 17/04/2022 15:33

Day 3 for me, CEV, feel terrible, I got the fear during the night just didn't know what to do with myself but feeling a bit better now it's daylight. Been told to monitor my oxygen levels and they'll decide if I need antivirals tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

purplemonkey654 · 17/04/2022 16:55

It got me too. Sore throat on Monday and positive Friday. I have severe health anxiety so I am just so anxious I keep trying to keep busy but suddenly I will get all worked up and like I'm having a panic attack thinking about the possible complications of covid. I can't stop my mind racing to the stories of people feeling well and then going downhill and ending up on a ventilator 😭 I feel fine but the anxiety is consuming me every minute of every day 😖

icecreamcart · 17/04/2022 17:04

Anxiety is the same for me. I feel better today though. No idea what day I started but did a test yesterday.

NaiceHamAndHugs · 18/04/2022 04:31

Coming into day 3. Still totally fine apart from head cold type symptoms, but I’m currently awake with very hot legs!! I also have my period and the flow is like Niagara Falls. I think my body is really going for it. My legs won’t cool down though, removing the duvet provides the wrong type of cooling. It needs to come from underneath, so I’m having to keep spreading them further and further apart to cold parts of the bed.

I know you all needed to know this.

Scandishores222 · 18/04/2022 05:42

NaiceHamAndHugs I'm on my period too and I've had the worst period pain (which I don't usually get) on top of skin and bone aching. My belly is super hot, I'm just lying with bellyout, sweat trickling down it. Sexy.

GettinTrimmer · 18/04/2022 07:50

It's got me too, after avoiding it for 2 years!

I woke up at 2am feeling very grotty with a streaming nose, feel exhausted and low mood. It started on Saturday. I don't feel headachey today so that's a bonus but my throat is more congested. My DH has it also, we had plans for the Easter weekend.

I hope everybody feels better soon. At least I still have my appetite so I've eaten my Easter Egg and hot cross bun!

TheMiMit · 18/04/2022 09:17

Got me as well. Am a teacher and managed to miraculously avoid if so far even when people were dropping like flies around me. Yesterday felt like someone had driven a truck through my head. In bed all day and still managed to sleep last night. Today am going to try to have a shower. Fingers crossed I'm over the worst of it.

EvenStrangerThings03 · 18/04/2022 09:28

It’s got me as well, I’ve avoided covid for 2 years and had at least 4 close contacts so I honestly thought I must be immune! At the moment it just feels like a bad cold. I have been having trouble sleeping though, and have been grinding my teeth a lot in my sleep so I wonder if that is linked. I’ve had all 3 jabs so hoping I will get off lightly, currently BFing my baby so I can’t really take anything for it.

SoItWas · 18/04/2022 10:31

I've got it now, first time (as far as I know), I just tested positive about an hour ago. Ds felt awful last Monday night, came home from school, and wanted to go for a doze (not like him at all), he woke up with a high temp, and pains all over. He tested positive.

I actually felt much worse last week, when I thought I had either a bad cold or flu (because all my ltr's were negative), I was feeling much better yesterday, got lots of tidying/hoovering etc done, but woke up today with a sore throat and ears but fine otherwise (I'm triple jabbed though), tested just in case, and no, I haven't bloody escaped it all. Ds is still testing positive, but his line was much fainter today.

SoItWas · 18/04/2022 10:32

*at all

Why are you fuming?
MMBaranova · 18/04/2022 13:47

A significant number of people I know have caught it over the last month. They have all had drawn out and unpleasant bouts, but with a range of symptoms. Many had it before in an earlier version. I had it so long ago in 2020 that I feel due a second visit, but so far have escaped one.

ancientgran · 18/04/2022 13:52

I'm on day 50. Still coughing but my nose has stopped running. Two lots of antibiotics haven't cleared my chest and coughing is so painful. I feel exhausted all the time. I have an appointment at hospital next week.
