Tight chest, breathlessness - only symptom?

Anyone else?

I have no cold symptoms or fever, just a burning feeling in my lungs, am out of breath and very tired. No cough.

Got this on holiday abroad in Italy so may be a different strain.

Finding it a bit alarming.

I had this with my first infection. Its horrible. Just try to relax as much as possible and no exercise or walks with any hills.

Thank you. @user1471509171 do you remember how long it took to go? I am feeling a bit better today although I used my inhaler so maybe that was the difference.

Mine took along time but it was before vaccinations so different story. Hopefully it feels better soon xx

Maternitynamechange · 16/04/2022 23:08

My first strain felt like that. It does feel scary but it will get better OP.

knowinglesseveryday · 16/04/2022 23:15

My first strain also.

knowinglesseveryday · 16/04/2022 23:16

Sorry, posted too soon. Use inhaler and also stay hydrated.

Yes to exactly this early March 20 when we weren't officially allowed to have it. Still angry!
Get yourself a home oxygen monitor for your finger, high dose vitamin c, Lugols iodine via a salt pipe to keep your lungs clear. Ivermectin could help, steam inhalation was good. Rest as much as you can to avoid long covid.

Try antihistamines, famotadine I think, GP may prescribe steroids.

Its horrible but you've got this.

Same - March 2020. Could not understand why I couldn’t get upstairs. I felt the lung pain a great deal in my upper back for some reason and it felt crushing when lying down (no tests back then but husband’s close colleague had hosted Chinese visitors and later had lung x-rays to confirm).

gardenhelpneeded · 17/04/2022 10:04

Thanks! Feeling a bit better today. The burning has gone. Just the breathlessness left. Just went downstairs and back up without too much trouble do am hopefully on the mend. Day 6 today. It’s just weird that I have no other symptoms - no fever, cold, headache or anything. Are my lungs inflamed? Weird virus.

I’m trying to rest to avoid long Covid (big fear as I am a very active person who lives for the outdoors)
