Severe muscle pains

I know this sounds trivial, but it’s just awful. Tried paraceatamol which does nothing, Cocodamol which does more but only lasts 4 hours . I’m just lying here weeping in pain.

Would you call 111?

I can’t take anti inflamatories.

Inflammatories!

I think the muscle pains/aching was the worst symptom so I sympathise. What day are you on? Mine only lasted a day or two so fingers crossed they’ll be short lived for you.
Would a bath or heat pad/hot water bottle help?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/04/2022 15:38

Day 2. I’ve got a heated pad on my shoulders and back.

I don’t think there’s any harm in calling 111, explaining that you can’t take any inflammatories and see if there’s anything else that they can give you. Make sure you’re drinking plenty too. Do you have anyone with you? Really hope you feel better soon.

VeganGod · 15/04/2022 15:48

*anti not any.

Nyfluff · 15/04/2022 15:49

You may be able to take a suppository anti inflammatory?

Dh is here. Feel like such a fraud, but it’s horrific

Glad you’ve got someone with you. Honestly, just call 111 or get your DH to, don’t feel bad, it’s what they’re there for. We’ve had it recently and all said the muscle pain and aching was the absolute worst thing.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/04/2022 16:00

I’ve just rooted through my medicine box and found some dihydracodeine and some Tramadol.

So I’m going to take the dihydracodeine at the next dose.

@ArseintheCoOpWindow the back pain was the worse symptom by far for me. Mine lasted for a week and the first 3 days were truly awful - started in back shoulder and quickly spread all over my back and I could hardly walk or bend. Heat patches, Epsom salt baths and hot water bottles help a bit until it works it's way out. I think mine was the cause of the inflammatory response radiating out from my lung where the virus lodged and maybe kidney working overtime to get rid of the viral infection/crap too. If I overdo things, you can still feel a very mild ache in that area too, so rest up and keep drinking loads of water. Hope you feel better soon Thanks

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 16/04/2022 14:06

Feel much better today. Thank you for all your help.

Got Covid insomnia though. How long does that last?

The aches weee the worst thing for me too. Mainly in my legs. I do sympathise. I didn’t have the insomnia, so can’t help with that. Neither did DH - he developed the ‘Covid Snore’ and it lasted for weeks Sad

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 16/04/2022 14:47

WellTidy, the aches were just unreal. I’ve had really proper bad flu once and they were way worse than that. But just for a day!

I had muscle pains OP for about 48 hours. Infact after 5 days a vague symptoms it's what prompted me to test. I got alot of relief from a hotwater bottle and having hot baths. Not at the same time obviously 😂
Thr aching went quite quickly and 10 days later I'm at the other end with wicked sinus pain/head pressure which after 2 days is thankfully fading.
Funny thing is I never had much of a cough or any real cold symptoms 🤷‍♀️
