Chest infection 3 weeks after Covid?

Has anyone had problems with coughing 3-4 weeks after Covid? I didn’t have any cough symptoms with Covid but now weeks on I’m fairly sure I’ve got a chest infection and I’m not sure whether to see a GP.

It’s a wet cough with a loud wheeze on inhaling and now a sharp in my back pain when breathing in deeply. Is it worth calling the GP or is it probably just viral? I don’t normally get chest infections so I’m a little worried it’s a secondary infection due to Covid. Thank you

can't hurt to try your GP if you feel it necessary

My boys had covid 4 weeks ago and were fine and now this week have horrific coughs and fast breathing, may be a coincidence

i dont think a GP can see you today though

I would see a GP for wheezing, chances are you will be given an inhaler to ease it, if your chest is rattling as well, it could be an infection, which may need antibiotics. First thing GP will say is have you done a covid test so be warned, if you can do one before you ring. GP surgeries are probably closed till Tuesday.

Yea I did. Had covid at the end of Feb, chest infection a couple weeks later, followed by an ear infection and now I'm anaemic. It really is the gift that keeps on giving for me.

It's quite common I believe to have chest infections afterwards. Hope you feel better soon.
