Weird symptom or something else?

Have Covid. Normal cold-like symptoms until about half an hour ago when my left hand and left side of my mouth suddenly went numb. Like, my mouth feels as though I’ve had an anaesthetic at the dentist.

Is this a Covid symptom that anyone has had or heard of? It’s not in the NHS list, but I’m not sure they have updated that for all the variants.

Have you checked in the mirror OP to make sure everything looks ok – no lop-sided smile, droopy eye? Speech unaffected?

Do you ever get migraines? They can cause facial numbness, and I had a bad migraine on my day 2 of Covid.

Looks fine in the mirror. I occasionally get menstrual migraines but would not be expecting that today and no other migraine symptoms. It’s so weird that it’s in my hand too.

How are you doing, OP? If you're still feeling the same, or worse, I'd probably try 111. I think numbness is worth looking into, COVID or not.

How are you doing, OP?

I would put a large sum of money on it being a migraine but this is the kind of symptom that needs checking out urgently. There is an increased risk of blood clots/strokes with COVID. There have also been neurological symptoms reported, such as numbness or weakness. Hope you called 111, who I am pretty sure will have sent you to A&E.

I had this exact symptom. Very weird. I kept checking myself in the mirror to make sure I wasn't having a stroke. Also felt slightly faint. I went to bed early and felt ok the next day.

Thanks everyone. I feel exactly the same. I talked to 111 who said talk to GP, so I feel reassured that they didn’t say immediately go to A&E.

@user1471509171, that is very reassuring thank you.

Have no idea when I will be able to get a phone appointment with GP, but I will monitor carefully and if things change for the worse, I will go to the hospital.
