Still testing positive

I'm on day 7, asymptomatic and still positive on LFT. I am due to go away on Thursday for a few days (day 9).

My tests have come up positive at once and haven't become any lighter since the first one I did 7 days ago.

Is there a predictable pattern that they will get lighter and lighter gradually, or can they suddenly appear negative?

Am getting stressed out quarantining!

Some people test positive for several weeks despite having no symptoms, advice is to carry on as normal after ten days even if still testing positive.

I’m in a similar position, only just tested positive today, due to go away on 7 days, though my symptoms started 2 days ago. As long as I feel well I will still be going away. At the moment I’m quite unwell but my tests are only showing a faint line.

I had a strong positive on day 1, 5, 7 & 9. Negative day 13. Didn’t test in between so don’t know when it started to fade.

I’m on day 7 too, also still testing positive. I wish I could say I’m asymptomatic, it’s really wiped me out but am slowly improving now.

We are due to go away for a night Friday and on balance we will go. I’m back working (from home) and really need a break. That will be my day 10 and DH hasn’t got it from me despite me sleeping in the same bed as him! We will mostly be walking anyway and I will wear a mask indoors.

It’s very confusing. I had a faint positive yesterday and a much darker one today🤷‍♀️

I’m a nurse and have been advised by occ health I can’t return until 2 negatives by day 11, or one between day 11 and 15 and then if I’m still testing positive I can just return. Very confusing.

I'm on day 8 and still testing strongly positive, despite feeling fine. I had cold symptoms for a couple of days and if I wasn't supposed to have been at a work event last week I probably wouldn't have tested at all. The worst bit is that my cleaner has now been unable to come for 2 visits, although she's kindly offered to fit me in on Thursday if I'm negative by then.

Thanks everyone. Where I am, you can't get out of quarantine until you are negative. My neighbour was in quarantine for 3 weeks cus she tested positive for 21 days! I dont suppose anyone has any tips for getting the virus out of your system??? I thought drinking loads of water might help but it hasn't!

My dh was a strong positive day 5 , day 6 just disappeared and day 7 also clear , never got lighter

emmathedilemma · 13/04/2022 11:41

Mine were very bold (and instant) and day 6, 7 and 8, I didn't test on day 9 as there was nothing to be gained but day 10 was still faintly positive. The advice here is to not do routine LFTs for 28 days after a positive once you've done the ones to determine if you can leave isolation early. I only did the day 10 one out of interest but was allowed out after then anyway.

I was positive for three weeks. Last summer DH was still testing positive after almost two months!

Oh my gosh that's awful! What did he do?

@Thejoyfulstar it didn't really mean anything - he wasn't ill at all (that infection was asymptomatic for both of us) and we weren't travelling or anything, so it wasn't an issue. Was really weird though!

This gives me hope! Day 5 today and a strong positive line. I've had cold symptoms but nothing sinister and I feel well & want to get on with things again.

I’m on day 11 and finally negative! Still symptomatic but getting better slowly. So relieved I can go back to work Tuesday🥳
I’m NHS and needed one negative before I can go back between day 11 and 15 so relieved to have that now.
