I was out sat eve. Friend has tested positive this am. I have sore throat and exhausted but otherwise pretty much fine. I can see a faint line but is it? I’m due to start work in half an hour!

Quick please!!Can you use a line?

Yes I see a line, sorry OP! I am on day 6 currently and a sore throat was my first symptom.

s285 · 12/04/2022 09:06

Yes there is definitely a faint line, I'm afraid to say you definitely have covid.

ginslinger · 12/04/2022 09:08

I can't see it but I never see lines on these boards

Lovemusic33 · 12/04/2022 09:11

Very faint but guessing you are coming down with covid. I’m in day 3 of symptoms and only got a string line this morning, started with scratchy throat.

Kenworthington · 12/04/2022 09:17

Gahhh . Oh well I had to send the picture to my manager. Hell prob say there’s nothing there and I need to come in. Well I’ll do another tomorrow to check again. Typical. I never go out. It’s my first night out since before Xmas .

There was a thread I saw yesterday where people were saying a very faint line didn't mean covid, it meant your immune system had successfully fought it off.
I have no idea if this is true but maybe test again tomorrow.?

Kenworthington · 12/04/2022 09:26

Oh really? Yes I’ll do another tomorrow. Just found out two more mates I was out with have tested positive too

Mine was super faint. This was me a day later...

Yes you have COVID, if you need a darker line test again but do a really good job swabbing.

TheGlitterati · 12/04/2022 09:33

Yes you have covid.

A faint line means the viral load is low. It’ll get darker.

Alondra · 12/04/2022 09:36

It's very faint but yes, it's a positive.

This is untrue.
CoffeeBeansGalore · 12/04/2022 09:51

My dd started with a v faint line. An hour later another test was definitely positive. I couldn't believe how much darker it was in an hour.
Can you delay going in & test again in an hour?

Kenworthington · 12/04/2022 09:53

I’ve taken day off. I had to send the photo which went to hr and they could obv see it too because I’m now signed off for 5 days. I think I’ll do another test later on today or tomorrow morning

Cornettoninja · 12/04/2022 09:57

I would guess you’re right at the start of an infection.

Word of sympathy/warning, I tested positive two days after dd, on one hand you complete any isolations your workplace may have in place sooner but if you’re reliant on a negative test you might not get one as quick as someone who didn’t test positive until a few days in. I didn’t test negative till day 11!

Kenworthington · 12/04/2022 09:59

Fortunately I ‘campaigned’ for company sick pay a couple weeks ago. And won. They’re prob deeply suspicious right now 🤣

Kenworthington · 13/04/2022 09:59

I think todays is no darker isi t? So weird.

My dh had a faint line appear on his at 35 mins so after time but he felt ill so we did it again and faint line appeared straight away, next day positive
I felt ill on fri negative , negative again sat morning , symptoms got worse so did another LFT sat pm and dark positive , went positive really quick

Cornettoninja · 13/04/2022 10:35

How do you feel? Maybe your body is really good at fighting it?

Although… my DP tested negative throughout the time dd and I were very much positive. I ‘joke’ that he was actually patient zero in this house! Grin

Out of interest, are your tests both nose and throat or just nose? I’ve seen anecdotally that people pick up more virus (and get stronger lines) if they swab their throat too.

Jules912 · 13/04/2022 10:42

Are you making sure you're not eating or drinking before? I had a really faint one when I forgot I'd had a glass of water 15minutes earlier.

Kenworthington · 13/04/2022 10:54

Ohhhhhhh maybe. Maybe it’s drinking. I’ll try and have a fast and do one later. Having said that ds1 was REALLY poorly and never tested positive on an lft but did on a pcr. Dh felt faintly Ill one day and had negative lfts but positive pcr. Weird. Maybe lfts just don’t work for us?!

Kenworthington · 13/04/2022 10:55

I’m swabbing nose and throat but I’ll be honest I don’t think I’m very good at the throat one due to gag fear

OP posts:
whywhythough · 13/04/2022 11:03

All of mine on those older tests that you swab nose and throat came back as faint as that. The other orient gene test gave a darker and thicker pink line.

Kenworthington · 14/04/2022 09:37

Well there’s no mistaking todays one
