I’ve done a few lateral flow tests and some have come back with a faint positive and some are negative so I’m not sure which one to believe!

I had this too but my PCR test was positive. I'd have been surprised if it wasn't because everyone i'd been in close contact with a few days earlier had already come down with it! I think I probably caught it early because I was doing LFTs daily as a close contact. I didn't do one after the first day until my day 6 test which came up with an immediate thick positive line.

Believe the positives. Because those tests have detected it.

False negatives are pretty common (often down to user technique)

We're they different brands? My DS sometimes gets a faint grey line on the flowflex ones, PCRs ( when that was possible) always negative so false positives can happen.
Though think some are more sensitive and if one's throat swab and one not that could also make a difference.

Always believe the positive.
