Mild burning in chest as getting over covid

I had covid with mild symptoms (fatigue, sore throat, headache). When I tested today the line is so faint I can only just make it out and I am assuming that means it's nearly gone. But today I have this mild chest pain - like a warm feeling all across my chest. Does this mean I'm developing a chest infection or is it just normal recovery? Anyone else get this?

Yes, had this today
I think it is just a Covid recovery thing

Phew, thank you! Hope you feel better soon too

Just keep an eye on it, I thought I had gotten over mild covid and tested negative after a week, then the day after i started with funny feeling in my chest which turned into chest tightness/breathlessness and I had developed pneumonia which needed high strength antibiotics. This probably won't be the case for you but better to be aware.

"But today I have this mild chest pain - like a warm feeling all across my chest"

I had this when I caught covid at work pre vaccines. Felt like a mini electric blanket in my chest ( but thermometer said temperature was normal) and I also worried it was an infection and I'd wake up struggling to breathe the next day.

It did stop after about 2 weeks in my case

It's so strange isn't it? I do feel better for hearing others have had the same. I have had GERD in the past and it feels a bit similar businesses this is a much wider area.

I had Covid back in October and was poorly for about 12 weeks. Just as I was feeling better, I developed irritated lungs. It started when I began cycling again and went up a hill, and my lungs felt as if they were on fire. It has not been as bad since, but I still get recurring irritation, particularly when the air is cold. I went to the doctors to have it checked out and I got the impression that this is not unusual, both in those who were badly affect by Covid and those with only mild symptoms; the doctor couldn't say how long it would last as it seems to vary in different people. I hope you feel better soon OP.

I've had this going on 4 weeks now, it's more annoying than painful but gets worse as the day goes on. The other aches and pains seem to be slowly getting better so hoping it'll go soon.

I had this. I assumed it was reflux. It was gone the next day.

Babdoc · 12/04/2022 09:41

I was hospitalised with the original Covid variant two years ago, before vaccines were developed. I remember severe burning pain through my entire chest - it felt like I’d poured battery acid into my lungs. So yes, it does seem to be a Covid symptom.
Caveat - there are many other causes of chest pain, from reflux to heart attack, so if yours is not settling, contact your GP.

Hi- just been looking at old posts re my post covid symptoms..? still the covid.

Day 13 with positive test (though today first time it is fainter) . Have been quite poorly but thought last Sun/Mon (today Wed) that I was improving : the cold/cough/chesty symptoms pretty much had gone and I was just waiting for taste to return and the fatigue and some nausea. I went for a short walk Monday (it's quite warm in my area) so not cold air or anything, but I did that and had more energy day; then yesterday felt awful with fatigue and a bit sore throat; and today I feel chesty/discomfort top of chest (though not short of breath) , clocked nose , and croaky and sore throat.

I am so paranoid mainly that I must be infectious still, though been reassured by GP I'm not (had to attend medical app Mon and he said I could attend as not infectious after 7 days) . Just get v worried about my family getting it (fortunately they avoided to date; husband does work from home but kids teens , but one teen has ocd and highly anxious about catching covid , though she has already had - in April; and my health not great best of times so if hubby got ill as me with it I would struggle ).

Kind of reassured to read that others have had similar experiences at end of their covid experience - fingers crossed it will not worsen say to pneumonia. Just so puzzled (and I used to be a nurse!) how I could be chesty/coldy again if those symptoms had gone and I haven't been any where for 2 wks to pick up other bugs.

Another who had it pre vaccines....... I described it like when u accidentally inhale chilli powder as its hits the hot oil🔥

Blossom4538 · 26/10/2022 23:58

Yes, I still have this, 3 weeks after testing positive.

inininsomnia · 27/10/2022 00:20

I'm experiencing this. I was ill in bed for two weeks with covid, went back to work and then relapsed with this chesty feeling and breathlessness as completely new symptoms out of nowhere. It comes on with any exertion and I'm exhausted. So, another three weeks in bed and GP told me my absolutely focus should be rest. So strange.

Ohbluepeter · 28/10/2022 22:31

I’ve had this odd bubbling feeling in the top of my lung (not heart side), really weird and a bit disconcerting. No other symptoms to go with it.

I was very congested with Covid and am still struggling with fatigue several weeks later.

Kcc73 · 29/10/2022 15:37

This does sound like me too. I had symptoms and positive with covid from 14th for 14 days. Now negative for 2 days but feel a heavy slightly burn /congested feeling top of chest/lower neck, and worse when I went out today and had mask on. Also my eyes burning so much and the drops I had from hayfever season not helping . Anyone else?

Yes had that too, viral conjunctivitis, very much like hay-fever eyes. Went on for months with me but I had long covid so hopefully yours will go soon. May sound weird but camomile tea is very soothing. I used it on my babies if they got conjunctivitis. 👍
