Faint lft line

So me and oldest child tested positive on lft a week and half ago, husband tested positive yesterday, but now my other son and youngest are currently unwell with a headache and temperature. I’ve bought some LFT’s and they have the faintest line - does this count as positive? I literally have to put it up to the light to see it- whereas mine, husbands and oldest child’s LFT was very very dark.
Can’t really afford to keep buying LFT’s so not sure if I should isolate them or not?

Yes.
A line is a line, no matter how light it is.

Yep, a line is a line, no matter how feint.

You don't need to isolate. If they're I'll stay at home. If they're not I'll crack on.

ill

I know legally we don’t have to isolate but I’d hate to take them out and they pass it on

@Pootle40

Not the case for schools/nurseries most other places!!!

My line started super faint then next day was stronger and stronger

Jenjenn · 06/04/2022 20:49

Mine was always super faint. Dh and dc were getting strong positives at same time. I was the most ill of all of us strangely.

A line is a line regardless of how dark it is. A faint line will likely to be stronger tomorrow (if you tested again!). We've had very faint lines that took 20 minutes to appear, also very strong and instant lines. But a line is positive even if faint ☺️

My DS has a habit of getting faint grey false positives on the flowflex tests, but I think that'd be unlikely to be the case for both of them. His real positive, even when fading after 8 days, had red in.
If you can afford the tests I'd test again tomorrow, it'll likely be darker if real.

@Jules912 that’s funny because my youngest also does! But yes, tested again today and super strong positive even before the control line came up- it’s crazy how fast they change

At least now you know. I think viral load must ramp up quite quickly as I had a negative PCR on the Saturday afternoon, then a positive LFT on Sunday.
