B12

I've had a look online and it says somewhere that covid depletes b12 from your system.
I've recently had my injection but had covid after that and I'm really struggling with tiredness. I've dozed off three times during the day and that never happens.
Just wondering if anyone on here has had the same, I'm curious about whether it's just normal post covid or if this is a known thing.
I got given my covid injection as a priority because of b12, I'm starting to wonder if I ought to be asking for a refill Grin

A year and a half later (dealing with LC) I’m now B12 deficient so it might be worth investigating.

That is interesting and a pain for you no doubt. I am laughing at being so sleepy but all jokes aside it's quite severe, I've got three small children and would never nap during the day but I've dropped off without realising. My eyes are very heavy even now.
I know any input on here is anecdotal but I can't help thinking it's a bit much to be this tired

Same here - I had Covid a couple of weeks ago and my b12 deficiency is insane. I can feel how low I am.

I self inject so I will just do a loading dose type regime as I genuinely feel rotten - tired, spaced out, foggy brain.

How do you find out your B12 levels and how do you get injections?

You GP will order a blood test (you may have a battle on your hands) and they’ll prescribe a regime of injections if you’re deficient but the NHS regime is very poor, which is why people often self inject

Up your Vitamin D too

I will call the doctor tomorrow I think and try to get a phone appointment. They're like gold dust at the moment lol I didn't want to ring them if I didn't need to but I suspect this might be what's happened

I was soooo tired during and after my covid bout a few weeks ago and I'm not b12 deficient at all but a friend who's a nurse recommended I took a supplement. Feel loads better now.

Definitely try and get an appointment if you can as it may help you. Hope you feel better soon!

Sux2buthen · 04/04/2022 22:09

Thankyou. I haven't got time for this tiredness 🤣

I know this is an old thread but would you be able to share the supplement you took that helped?
