Worrying about trip to the US

I had Covid a couple of weeks ago and recovered fine. I'm due to go to the USA in two weeks and I thought I would be able to take a 'letter of recovery' rather than a PCR on the day of the flight, but apparently because I had a LFT rather than a PCR I may not be able to get a letter, and I might still test positive on a PCR. Argh! What can I do?

For the US you need to do an lft the day before. You don't need a PCR.

You only need a lateral flow . Supervised though so either in person somewhere or via video . It will be fine

That will be a huge relief! I know I test negative on LFTs so that will be ace. Thank you!

I’m traveling there (hopefully) on 13th April. I’m positive at the moment so praying I’ll pass the supervised LFT that needs to be done the day before you leave.

I’ve booked a company called living care for the tests

This is off topic, but may I ask where in the US you plan to travel to? I'm in New York and it's lovely here in the spring.

Just do an LFT the day before and don’t mention having recently had covid. Not only do the the CDC require a certificate of recovery they also want a written and signed declaration from a doctor that you’re safe to travel.
