Strongest positive yet on Day 7 :(

FFS Day 7 and I was planning to actually leave the house today (just supermarket shopping and a solo coffee) after literally weeks stuck at home due to one family member after another testing positive. It's much darker than my Day 0, Day 1 and Day 5 tests.

I know there are no rules about isolation now and I can do what I want, but I guess it probably means I'm still contagious.

My symptoms have been pretty vague (but pretty unpleasant) all the way through – crushing fug of lethargy/exhaustion, mild sore throat, etc. I think I'm emerging from the fug and sore throat is better but have had a headache for the last 48 hours. I absolutely would be out and about as normal if it wasn't for Covid.

Strongest positive yet on Day 7 :(

Ugh I hope you get out soon. Can I ask out of pure nosiness how long after other family members became ill did you get your positive? My DH has been ill since last Thursday, and youngest DD started on Monday. I'm just wondering at what point my eldest DD and I can conclude we have escaped (at least this time around...)

bellinisurge · 01/04/2022 10:58

Just finished today - ten days of not going out. I still had a faint positive test yesterday.

Lougle · 01/04/2022 11:03

I'm day 6 and testing positive. I don't know anyone who was actually allowed to leave the house on day 6. They were all still testing positive.

wishfuldreamer · 01/04/2022 11:06

I was the same - strongest positive on day 8. Noticeable fade on days 9 and 10, but no chance was I getting out early

ApolloandDaphne · 01/04/2022 11:17

I'm day 8 and mine is noticeably fainter

@Garageinconstantuse
Probably not what you want to hear, but DP tested positive 12 (!) days after DD (the day she went back to school) and me 4 or 5 days after DP. DS is still ok (and we're not going to test him unless he gets symptoms) for now, but he had Covid in October and none of the rest of us caught it from him then.

I wasn't planning to test myself any more, just thought I'd do one today before I went out and about...

Oh! Might pretend I never asked! I have a headache this morning but trying to ignore that...

ApolloandDaphne · 01/04/2022 18:53

I'm going out again by day 10 no matter what.

frenchiemummy92 · 02/04/2022 06:13

I didn't start to get light positives till day 13 , they remained really strong positives from day 2-12. Hopefully starts fading for you

MadameFantabulosa · 02/04/2022 06:17

I was told by a nurse to irrigate my nose and to gargle with salt water to try and flush out what was remaining of the virus. I tested negative on day 8 (but suspect now that I had it before I tested) and again on day 10. My husband, who pop pooed this idea is still testing positive after 2 weeks. He’s not allowed into the office until he has two negative tests.

My DH is testing positive still- day 7 but new rules mean he can go out if well enough. I think follow the rules and go out but limit contact still and wear face mask if necessary in certain places
