Only positive for 2 days?

I’ve been unwell just over 2 weeks- horrific cold, headache tired etc, had 3 days off last week sick then felt slightly better went back to work Thursday and Friday (in a nursery where covid is rife). Monday DH tested positive but my tests on Monday and Tuesday were both negative, Wednesday and Yesterday both positive, faint lines but definitely there. Today my LFT is negative? Is it more likely I was positive before Wednesday and the test didn’t pick it up or that the negative today is right?

LTF tests are notoriously inaccurate.

Hope you feel better soon!

You might be positive again tomorrow. I have been positive up to day 8. Then day 9 was negative, but then had a positive again for day 10….

Thanks both for your replies. Obviously I am isolating for the 5 days anyway until Monday and the LFT from now is irrelevant under the new rules anyway

You're much less likely to have a false positive than a false negative. I'd assume that your negative is a false one - take another test and see what that one says.

I'd say you got a mild dose. I also had a week of feeling crap ( and negative LFT and PCR) before my positive, I assume I had a cold first.

Well today’s test is positive so that answers that query! And before anyone jumps, I know I don’t need to test any more!

How are you feeling @Lifeispassingby? Any better?

neveroutoftheChristmaskitchen · 02/04/2022 10:35

my LFT are all negative. DH is positive and just coming out of feeling awful. 22 year old DS tested positive no symptoms. I have a cough, itchy throat and fell exhausted. Still testing negative though.

Lifeispassingby · 02/04/2022 12:32

@BIWI I thought I was turning a corner yesterday as I felt better than I have for a week or so, but today I feel seriously tired and the cough is progressively getting worse. DH can go out from today but has a faint positive still so he’s not sure what to do lol thanks for asking

Oh no! If it's any consolation, just as I thought I was getting better I had a horrible headache for a day, that I just couldn't shift. All fine - and tested negative - the following day! (If your DH is still positive, so shouldn't be going out)

Lifeispassingby · 02/04/2022 16:33

@BIWI the new rules now are 5 days isolation and then can return to normal as long as no temp and feel well enough to do so?
