Covid, shingles or something else?

I’m on day 8 of having Covid. Still testing positive. Was feeling rough and achey but now my only symptoms are a blinding headache and a rash that appeared on my inner thigh Sunday evening.

I can’t get out to show a pharmacist but googling makes me think that combined with the awful headache this could be shingles.

Has anyone had this? Do I just chalk it all up to Covid or is it worth a call to the Drs?

I had Covid and then shingles, it activated it. You need to call the doctor. Rash and blinding headaches were my main symptoms in the first day, then horrific pain along the nerve path the rash was on. It felt like my arm was breaking every time I moved it. I'm literally on day 10 from a new Covid infection and I'm terrified of getting shingles again!

Is it painful, or itchy?
Is it following a straight (ish) line? Shingles follows the line of a single nerve.

It does look like a shingles rash. I think you can get anti virals which are good if you get them early enough. Can you send a picture to your GP?

I would contact the doctor, if it is shingles the sooner you get antivirals the better.

I did wonder if Covid smooshing down my immune system could be a factor in getting it.

It’s a little hot and itchy but not horrifically so. It is in a band horizontally on my thigh.

I’ll do my best to get in touch with the GP.

Flowers Thanks guys

Just back from the Urgent Care and it is shingles so thought I’d update this thread in case anyone stumbles upon it looking for answers to the weird rash they’ve got.

My dd is just recovering from covid. Got shingle on day 3.

Covid reactivated my shingles

Infinitemoon · 03/04/2022 09:59

Yes I had this on my thigh too. It is still itchy and the skin delicate in that area but the tingling and heat have now gone.
