Child is negative but both parents are positive, no other way for them to get to school and back but for parent to take them, is this allowed?

Yes you can just gone through the same thing with my 2, however they ended up catching it anyway.

There is no legal requirement to isolate, just guidance. I had covid last week and still took DS to school and picked him up. Dropped him off and watched him walk in from the car. Collected him at home time wearing a mask

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/03/2022 09:08

Yes. This has been allowed for ages if you are in England.

Mariposista · 30/03/2022 09:16

No longer an obligation to isolate so you can take them wherever you want

Thank you all, got a bit confused as to what I am allowed to do, supposed to do, advised to do!

Yes you can. In our case DD had it first and when she was able to go back to school me and DH had it so it was then us getting her to school while we were infectious. As she is a sensible year 5 i walked her most of the way including across both the busy main roads then she walked the rest of the way herself so we weren’t near other children and parents. We did the same when she finished school for the day too. Turned out she actually quite enjoyed walking some by herself.

No legal requirements.

But schools ask for 5 days off for positive staff and pupils.

If you are actively symtomatic (eg running a temperature) then you really should stay in.

Middle ground - minimise contact for about 5 days - stay home of you can wear a mask when you can't, keep away from other people (you can't tell who is unusually vulnerable just be looking), get things delivered or postpone shopping

If you are in England pop a mask on and go for it.

If you are in Scotland (and still following the Chief Mammy's rules) stay at home and isolate for 7 days and ask someone else to take your child to school for you.

hapagirl · 30/03/2022 09:33

Yeah, we took her and picked her up in the car and didn’t get out ourselves.

DuckaLucka · 30/03/2022 10:52

Mask on here and stayed away from people.

Of course you can, super common where kid brings it home and then is ready to go back before the adults have finished with it. Just take them and stay away from people.
