Anyone with covid now what are your symptoms. I woke up Sunday with scratchy throat & weepy eyes.I had been for a long walk Saturday & forgot my to take a hayfever tablet so was thinking it's hayfever. Today my throat is still a bit itchy and a bit of phlegm. Both which I do get with hayfever however theres lots of cases local at the moment and I was out with friends on Friday night aswell in a fairly packed pub so wonder if OH should pop to boots for some tests just incase it isn't hayfever.
If it isn't hayfever, anyone who started with hayfever type symptoms how did it progress and were you able to potter about the house or in bed. Been dreading catching it, fairly over weight.

It's hard to say. Could be hayfever, could be a cold, could be covid. Mine were very much cold like, sinus pain. I'm pretty overweight too, bmi 36 and I was fine. It was all upper respiratory, my chest or breathing was not affected in the slightest and I made a speedy recovery! In all honesty I've had colds that are worse! Hope you feel better soon regardless of what it is 💕

I took a hayfever tablet sat and then tested positive later in the day. I've had sneezing, runny nose and now got sore throat and headache.

emmathedilemma · 29/03/2022 10:27

I had a bit of a scratchy throat but put that down to having done so many LFTs as I was a close contact of someone. I had a headache Tuesday afternoon and woke up with one Wednesday then tested positive. I’ve not really had a sore throat since but I’ve got a “cold” and it’s more of a tickly nose sort of feeling, a bit like hayfever (which I also suffer from!). I’ve not had a temperature and only a bit of a phlegmy cough the last couple of days.

DaisyDozyDee · 29/03/2022 10:31

It started very similar to hayfever for me, but has swung through a range of other symptoms too (headache, earache, nausea). It’s been uncomfortable, but not scary. I’ve been ill for a week so far. Not a lot of energy to do very much, but well enough to potter around the house.

Mrsjayy · 29/03/2022 10:32

Yes istarted like that first couple of days my sore throat went away I felt fluey after that,

Ihaveoflate · 29/03/2022 10:35

I've just responded on another thread that it felt just like hayfever initially: sneezes, scratchy throat, sore/watery eyes

itssillyoldme · 29/03/2022 10:38

Thanks, think I will send OH to boots.
Currently dont feel ill, just phlegm and itchy throat.
Working from home today so all windows and doors shut so eyes currently fine.

You'll be lucky to get any LFTs now..they stop giving them out on 1st April and most places have none left now...does sound like covid x

Mrsjayy · 29/03/2022 10:47

I did 2 tests before I had q positive just so you are aware .

itssillyoldme · 29/03/2022 10:56

Do you think people wont test after Friday then and just go about there business. For example in my case just assume it's hayfever. Or if someone is poorly with it just not know and have a few days of work/school etc whilst getting better?
I've just looked on boots and seen they are almost £10 for 5! So if people have to test everytime they think it might be covid it's going to get costly.
Spoke to OH who said his parents have some so he's going to collect a couple on his way home
Thanks Mrs Jay, will test today and then again tomorrow. How long were you fluey for?

5 days I felt rubbish I'm just out of isolation because I didn't get 2 negatives in a row!

Scotland is a few weeks behind our test centres are closing 1st of May

MissCrowley · 29/03/2022 12:05

I've had blocked nose, slight sore throat which only lasted a few hours. Dizziness, tinnitus, auditory migraines (I get those anyway but these were bad)
And lots of backache, upper and lower. When it's in the upper it takes my breath away a bit. It tends to stop for a bit and then come back as well. I'm on day 4 I think today.
Other than this I've not had to stay in bed.
The only other issue I'm having is starting asleep! Keep waking up at around 2am and then being awake for 2 hours.

itssillyoldme · 29/03/2022 17:41

Tested and very faint line.
I don't feel any different than this morning at the moment.
I now wonder how many are walking around with it assuming it's something else and when tests are chargeable how many will actually test?
I will work from home the rest of the week, if I don't get any worse I can go out for a walk can't I? I would only go when it's likely to be quiet.

I think you're ok to go for a walk if you live in England. I don't and i'm not meant to but i've been a couple of times at quiet times otherwise I'd be bouncing off the walls!
